With the help of the TScan component arbitrarily many drives and directories can be scaned for arbitrarily much file schemes and search masks. The component finds readonly-, hidden-, system- and large files, 0-byte files, files which were created/changed bevor, after or between given dates/times and it also respects excluded files or directories. The drives, directories and search masks have to be assigned to the component's properties as strings or stringlists (TStrings). After scanning the component presents the search result also as a stringlist (TStrings).
If you would like to see, how TScan works, please try The Broom!.
This Component combines three functions to get folders and directories. The "older styled" SelectDirectory function brings up a dialog to allow the user to enter or create a directory name. The newer one uses the SHBrowseForFolder function to prompt the user for a folder or a directory. In addition the component offers a function to locate special shell folders like Program groups, Fonts, Drives, Desktop, Personal, Recent, SendTo and so on.
