TScan Component 1.5 - Copyright  1999 Michael Brick



1.   With the help of the TScan component arbitrarily many drives and directories can be scaned for arbitrarily much file schemes and search masks. The component finds readonly-, hidden-, system- and large files, 0-byte files, files which were created/changed bevor, after or between given dates/times and it also respects excluded files or directories. The drives, directories and search masks have to be assigned to the component's properties as stringlists (TStrings). After scanning the component presents the search result also as a stringlist (TStrings).  

The package contains the TScan Component for Delphi 1.x (16-Bit - Windows  3.1) and the TScan Component for Delphi 3.0 (32-Bit - Windows 95/98). Please, install SCAN16.DCU to use the component with Delphi 1.x and install SCAN32.DCU to use it with Delphi 3.0.

To work with the TScan component, simply copy all files into one directory and install the Delphi component(s) - thats all. 

3.   The TScan Component is SHAREWARE. If you would like to equip and distribute your own software with the TScan Component you must register. The registration fee is DM 30.--.

The Software is owned by Michael Brick code are the valuable trade secrets. The Software is also protected by German Copyright Law and International Treaty provisions. You agree not to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of the Software. You may use trademarks only to identify printed output produced by the Software, in accordance with accepted trademark practice, including identification of trademark owner's name. Such use of any trademark does not give you any rights of ownership in that trademark. Except as stated above, this Agreement does not grant you any intellectual property rights in the Software.  

Disclaimer of Warranty  

THIS SOFTWARE AND THE ACCOMPANYING FILES ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OF MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. Because of the various hardware and software environments into which the software may be put, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS OFFERED.  

Good data processing procedure dictates that any program be thoroughly tested with non-critical data before relying on it. The user must assume the entire risk of using the program.  ANY LIABILITY OF THE SELLER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE.  

Governing Law and General Provisions  

This Agreement will be governed by the German laws. If any part of this Agreement is found void and unenforceable, it will not affect the validity of the balance of the Agreement, which shall remain valid and enforceable according to its terms. You agree that the Software will not be shipped, transferred or exported into any country or used in any manner prohibited by the German export laws, restrictions or regulations. This Agreement shall automatically terminate upon failure by you to comply with its terms.
